Ogden City planning division is proposing design standard changes for new multi-family residential development in residential zones. In 2020, the planning division conducted an extensive study researching design standards for multi-family residential development in commercial zones and significant changes were made as a result. The 2020 changes were specific to multi-family design standards in commercial zones and did not apply to residential zones. As a follow-up to those changes, the current proposal is to update the design standards for multi-family residential development in residential zones.
The Ogden Planning Commission recommended adoption of the new standards. The City Council will consider these changes at a later date.
