- The City of Ogden Partners with Citibot to Launch Archie: A 24/7 AI-Powered Customer Support Platform (1/30/2025) - During the Mayor’s State of the City Address on Wednesday evening, Ogden City Mayor Ben Nadolski announced the launch of the city’s new custom web assistant, “Archie”. Archie is a cutting-edge, AI-powered customer service solution developed in partnership with Citibot, a leader in interactive chat services for local governments. Archie provides residents with seamless, round-the-clock access to city services via an easy-to-use web chat and text messaging platform. This new service helps residents quickly find information, submit service requests, and connect directly with city staff, simplifying the way they access city services.

- Weber County and Ogden City collaborate in finding Code Blue solutions (2/10/2025) - Before Code Blue became a state law requiring each county to implement a plan for severe weather emergency sheltering, Ogden demonstrated early leadership by creating Utah’s first Code Blue program highlighting Weber County and Ogden City as innovators in homeless services. City officials, in partnership with the Ogden Fire Department and Lantern House, developed a proactive response plan to protect unsheltered individuals during extreme winter conditions.
- Statement from Ogden City Regarding Potential Federal Worker Layoffs (2/21/2025) - Federal employees, including those working for the Internal Revenue Service, represent a large constituent of the workforce in our community and play a crucial role in both our local economy and daily lives. As we continue to hear varying information regarding potential layoffs, Ogden City along with vital community resource providers are closely monitoring developments and remains committed to scaling our response as needed.

- Williams International Expands in Ogden, Adding at Least 300 High-Wage, High-Tech Jobs and $1 Billion in Investments (3/12/25) - Williams International is expanding in Ogden with support from a local Tax Increment Financing (TIF) incentive approved by the Ogden City Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Board. This expansion will add more than 300 high-wage aerospace jobs to the area, with expected investments in Williams’ Utah operations of over $1 billion dollars over the coming years.
- Ogden City Planning Division to Host Public Open House on Proposed Historic District (3/18/2025) - The Ogden City Planning Division invites residents and community members to attend a public open house on March 24th from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Polk Elementary School. This event will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the updated proposed boundaries for both the National Historic District and the Local Historic District in the Marilyn Drive area.
- Discounted Rainwater Barrels Now Available to Ogden Residents, Aiding Water Conservation (3/19/2025) - Ogden City is excited to partner once again with the Utah Rivers Council in an effort to bring our residents discounted American-made rain barrels as part of the RainHarvest program. RainHarvest distributes barrels to Utah residents for the purpose of collecting rainwater that falls on rooftops for later use on lawns and gardens. This program offers residents the opportunity to affordably conserve water through rainwater collection. By purchasing these heavily discounted rain barrels, Utahns can reduce municipal water demand and improve the water quality of local streams, rivers, and lakes by decreasing polluted runoff.
- Ogden City Council to Vote on Naming of Soccer Fields at Marshall White Community Center (3/20/2025) - On April 1, 2025, Ogden City Council will vote on Mayor Nadolski’s proposal to name the soccer fields at the newly rebuilt Marshall White Community Center in honor of fallen Officer Nathan Lyday. The proposal was introduced by Ron White, son of Dr. Marshall N. White, whose name the center proudly bears.
- Ogden City Enhances Emergency Response for Residents with Mobility Issues Using Grant Award (3/24/2025) - Ogden City Fire and Police Departments are teaming up with the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation to provide enhanced emergency services for Ogden’s elderly, chronically ill and homebound residents. Through the Secure Opening System (SOS) Program, the city’s emergency services hope to provide quick, damage-free access to residents’ homes. The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation awarded enough funds for Ogden City emergency services to purchase 10 Knox HomeBox secure key storage units. Ogden City is the first in Utah to provide these lockboxes directly to its most vulnerable residents at no cost.

- Ogden City Officials to Propose Key Step in Strategic Housing Plan that Prioritizes Home Ownership and Neighborhood Stability (4/02/2025) - As one component of Ogden City's commitment to provide opportunities for attainable homeownership for its residents, city officials will present a Draft Five-Year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan for Fiscal Year 2026 at the upcoming Ogden City Council work session on April 8, 2025. If ultimately approved by the City Council at a later date, this proposal will guide the allocation of federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) over the next five years. The proposed plan gives residents access to opportunities and tools that help make homeownership attainable.
- Ogden City Secures Historic Forest Service Building, a Central Piece to the Nine Rails Creative District (4/04/2025) - Preserving a cornerstone of the city’s art deco architecture, Ogden City has officially completed the acquisition of the historic U.S. Forest Service Building. Constructed in 1934, this architectural landmark will now serve as a vital hub within the Nine Rails Creative District, reinforcing the city’s commitment to historic preservation, cultural vibrancy, and quality housing.
- Federal Employee Career Transition Event (4/9/25) - In response to recent and anticipated government workforce reductions, Ogden City, in collaboration with Ogden-Weber Technical College, Weber State University, Weber County, the Utah Department of Workforce Services, United Way of Northern Utah, and the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, is hosting the Federal Employee Career Transition & Resource Connection Event on Wednesday, April 23, from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at the Ogden-Weber Technical College Event Center. This free community event is designed to support federal employees who have been impacted—or may be impacted—by large-scale layoffs. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new career paths, connect with local employers, and access a wide range of critical resources.
- Ogden City to Celebrate Grand Opening of High-Powered DC Fast Chargers at Historic Union Station (4/17/2025) - Ogden City, in partnership with Rocky Mountain Power and Electrify America, is excited to announce the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for eight new 350 kW DC fast chargers at Historic Union Station. This significant addition to Ogden’s charging infrastructure will provide a fast, reliable, and convenient charging experience for electric vehicle (EV) drivers traveling through the region.
- Ogden Invites Community to Help Shape the Future of Wall Avenue - (4/22/2025) - Ogden City is inviting the community to participate in a public workshop to help reimagine Wall Avenue, a major corridor running through the heart of downtown Ogden, connecting community with business. The Wall Avenue Corridor Plan is a key piece to the MAKE Ogden Downtown Master Plan passed unanimously by Ogden City Council in 2020.
- Improvements Coming to Trail Access Near Mt. Ogden Golf Course (4/29/2025) - Ogden is known for its abundance of world-class recreation opportunities and access to natural resources. Many residents and visitors enjoy access to a vast trail system and two of the most scenic municipal golf courses in the state. To ensure these experiences continue to thrive and serve the community well, we’re making investments and adding new amenities to the area around Mt. Ogden Golf Course.

- Ogden City Mayor Proposes Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget(5/6/25) - Without increasing the property tax rate and with a continued focus on public safety, quality of life, and responsible growth, Ogden City Mayor Ben Nadolski presented his proposed budget for 2025-2026 to the city council on May 6th. The $289.05 million citywide budget reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to Ogden residents and the employees who serve them.
- Ogden City’s Marshall N. White Community Center Set to Re-open (5/7/25) - Ogden City and its Recreation staff proudly welcome the community to the Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting and Dedication of the new Marshall N. White Center on May 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at 222 28th Street, Ogden. This newly constructed facility honors the legacy of fallen Ogden Police Officer Marshall N. White and his enduring commitment to community service.
- Ogden City Partners with Aerospace and Defense Leaders to Host Second Annual Acceler8 Wasatch Week (05/09/2025) - Bringing together national defense and aerospace leadership, small business innovators, government officials and academia, Ogden City is proud to host the second annual Acceler8 Wasatch Week. The event is presented in partnership with 47G, the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, Hill Air Force Base, Weber State University, Davis Technical College, Ogden-Weber Technical College, APEX Accelerator, Utah Innovation Center, Northern Utah Economic Alliance, and World Trade Center Utah.
- Ogden City Leaders Appointed to Key Committees for 2034 Winter Games (5/15/25) - Utah Olympic organizers announced the formation of several new committees to help advise the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among the newly appointed members are several prominent representatives from northern Utah, including Ogden City Mayor Ben Nadolski, who was named to the Host Communities Committee. This committee is dedicated to engaging local communities throughout the planning of the 2034 Winter with a strong focus on sustainable economic developments and community driven initiatives. Mayor Nadolski will serve alongside Weber County Commissioner, Jim Harvey on the Host Communities Committee, ensuring northern Utah’s voice is represented.

- Ogden Mayor Ben Nadolski Announces Recommendation of Mike Slater as Ogden’s Next Fire Chief(7/9/25) - Ogden Mayor Ben Nadolski announced today that he will forward Deputy Fire Chief Mike Slater's name to the Ogden City Council as his recommendation for appointment as the next Chief of the Ogden City Fire Department. The recommendation follows a comprehensive national search and a competitive, multi-phase interview process.
