Newly elected Council member Flor Lopez was officially sworn in as the District 1 representative of the Ogden City Council during the Induction Ceremony held Tuesday, January 13 inside the Council Chambers.
Following the oath of office, Council member Lopez emphasized her commitment to service and representation.
“It’s an honor to stand before you as a new member of the Ogden City Council,” Lopez said. “Ogden City is a place of hardworking people, and I am committed to representing all the people here in Ogden — all those voices.”
Council member Lopez also highlighted the responsibility of public service and the importance of thoughtful leadership. “Public service is not about titles or power. It’s about service. It’s about showing up and doing the right thing, and I’m committed to doing that,” she said.
Fellow Council members and Mayor Benjamin K. Nadolski welcomed Lopez, noting her dedication, leadership, and the significance of her service to the community.
Lopez joins new Council members Alicia Washington and Kevin Lundell to begin their first terms, and Ken Richey who was elected to serve a second term.
