Own in Ogden - Down Payment Assistance Program
Own in Ogden is a loan program to assist home buyers with the down payment or closing costs of purchasing a home in Ogden. Own In Ogden funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding is limited.

Program Overview
Own in Ogden provides down payment assistance to help homebuyers purchase a primary residence in Ogden City. Assistance is offered as a 0% interest, deferred-payment loan.
The loan is repaid when:
- The home is sold
- The mortgage is refinanced
- The home is no longer the borrower's primary residence
At that time, the full loan amount becomes due.
Loan Amount
Eligible homebuyers may qualify for:
- $10,000 - Homebuyers purchasing a home in Ogden as their primary residence.
- $15,000 - State-certified K-12 classroom teachers or administrators in schools which serve Ogden City students. Ogden City employees purchasing a primary residence within Ogden. (Not available to those already owning homes in Ogden).
- $20,000 - Ogden City sworn Police Officers and Ogden City Firefighters purchasing a primary residence within Ogden City.
Purchase Price Limits
As of September 1, 2024:
- Existing homes: up to $430,000.00
- New Construction homes: up to $467,000.00
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following:
- Households cannot exceed 80% of the area median income (AMI). See chart below.
- Borrowers must live in the home as their primary residence. Nonoccupant borrowers are not eligible for the Own in Ogden program.
- Borrower(s) must provide at least $500 toward the purchase.
- Borrower(s) cannot receive funds back at closing ($0.00).
- Borrower(s) must complete and provide a certificate of a HUD-certified Home Buyer Education Course.
