Arts and Crafts

We have something for everyone!  Are you looking for a creative outlet, at the center we have number of arts and crafts classes and groups for you to participate in.  

Open Art Studio- Tuesday and Thursday 10-2 pm

Freedom to choose various art techniques including drawing, painting, and more. This open studio gives artists the opportunity to work on any piece of artwork of their choosing. It is held in our studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2. Free with current membership.

Pottery- Friday 2-4 pm

Come learn how to create your masterpiece on a pottery wheel. Fee of $15 which includes instruction, up to 3 pounds of clay, firing and glazes. Register Today! 

Open Studio Pottery

Open studio for pottery is held in our Studio and Multi-Purpose Room multiple times throughout the week. You can work on any projects you are wanting to create or finish any projects you may have started; no instruction will be given. 
Days held:
- Monday 10:30-1:30 (Studio) Free to members
- Tuesday 5:30- 7:30 (Multi-Purpose Room) $3 members, $5 non-members
- Friday 10:30- 1:30 Free to members & 4:30-7:30 (Studio) $3 members, $5 non-members

Clay can be 

Lapidary- Monday and Tuesday 4:00- 8:00 pm

Lapidary is the art of forming cabochons (a polished gem) by cutting, grinding, and polishing stone and/or gemstones. Lapidary is by registration only including the first Tuesday of the month for new students. The first Tuesday of the month is for new students only it is free. Every class after is $3 for members & $5 for non-members. 

Silversmithing- Wednesday & Thursday 5-8 pm

In this class you will work closely with an instructor to help you learn how to create a ring or a pendent. You are considered a new student until you complete two projects, both the ring and pendent. For the Thursday night session, you will only do one project per month. You can only register for the Thursday session at a cost is $15 by month. Thursday session is held on the 1st-3rd Thursday. This cost covers 3 weeks of instruction, a material list will be provided along with a schedule of dates upon registration for new students. Wednesday session is held every Wednesday as an Open studio, there is no instruction provided. The fee is $3 for Golden Hours Members and $5 for non-members. 

Wire Wrapping- 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm

Wire wrapping is a technique that involves bending wire around stone, sea glass, shells, amber, or other ornamental centerpieces to create a piece of jewelry. This class is held the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 in the multi-purpose room. 

Doodles & Dessert- Currently on hold

Learn how to make various crafts such as paintings, DIY projects, etc. Register at Golden Hours Front Desk must be a Golden Hours Member. Class costs $10, all materials and instructions provided. 

Quilt Block Project- Once a month, 2nd Monday of the month at 10:00 am 

Must have some sewing experience. $3 for fabric or bring your own for free. Must register at the front desk.

Stitches In Time- Tuesdays at 12:00 pm

Participate in cross stitch, crochet, and other stitching hobbies once a week in our Sewing Room. New projects each month!
