Arts and Crafts

We have something for everyone!  Are you looking for a creative outlet, at the center we have number of arts and crafts classes and groups for you to participate in.  

Open Art Studio- Tuesday and Thursday 10-2 pm

Freedom to choose various art techniques including drawing, painting, and more. This open studio gives artists the opportunity to work on any piece of artwork of their choosing. It is held in our studio on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2. Free with current membership.

Pottery- Friday 2-4 pm

Come learn how to create your masterpiece on a pottery wheel. Fee of $15 which includes instruction, up to 3 pounds of clay, firing and glazes.                   Next session available: Nov 3, 17 & Dec 1, 8. Register Today! 

Open Studio Pottery-Monday & Friday 10:30-1:30 pm

Lapidary- Monday and Tuesday 4:30- 8 pm

Lapidary is the art of forming cabochons (a polished gem) by cutting, grinding, and polishing stone and/or gemstones. The 1st class of the month is for new students only. Monday session is an open studio only. This is held in our studio. Cost for members is $3 and non-member cost is $5. 

Silversmithing- Wednesday & Thursday 5-8 pm

In this class you will work closely with an instructor to help you learn how to create a ring or a pendent. You are considered a new student until you complete two projects, both the ring and pendent. You will only do one project per month. You must register by month in order to stay in this class. You can only register for EITHER the Thursday session or the Wednesday session. Cost is $15 by month. This cost covers 3 weeks of instruction, a material list will be provided along with a schedule of dates upon registration for new students. Wednesday session is held on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesday. Thursday session is held on the 1st-3rd Thursday. There is a registration only open studio on the 5th Wednesday (if applicable) and the 4th & 5th (if applicable) Thursday. The cost for open studio is $3 per session. You must register at the front desk; we do not accept payments over the phone or hold spots for this class. 

 Wire Wrapping- 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:30 pm

Wire wrapping is a technique that involves bending wire around stone, sea glass, shells, amber, or other ornamental centerpieces to create a piece of jewelry. This class is held the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 in the Multi-Purpose room.

Basic Patchwork Quilting 101- Will be returning in the late fall

Join in on the quilting fun by combining a variety of fabrics to create beautiful quilts. This class is held in the Textile Classroom. Class is free with current membership.

Paint Nights- Once a month, Tuesdays at 4:30 pm

Learn how to paint with Kaylee once a month. She teaches you how to create a new drawing every time! Next available- November 21 Swirly pumpkin! Register at Golden Hours Front Desk must be a Golden Hours Member. Class costs $10, all materials provided. 

Sewing Project- Once a month, 2nd Monday of the month at 10:00 am 

December craft- ornament making! No sewing involved, sign up with our front desk.
