Rate calculations

Water

The base rate is determined by the size of the water meter.  Consumption rates are determined by meter size, water usage, and the availability of secondary water.  For properties without secondary water, a modified rate structure applies during May thru October.  Different rates may apply to customers that receive services from Ogden City but do not live within city boundaries.

Sewer

Sewer charges are based on water charges.  The sewer base rate is determined by the water meter size and sewer usage is based on water consumption.   For properties with water meters 1" and smaller sewer usage is based on water consumption during the winter months.  This means that water used for lawn care during the summer does not increase your sewer charges.

Garbage

Charges are based on the number and size of garbage cans.  The first garbage can provided also includes a recycling can.

Storm Sewer

Charges are based on the amount of hard surfaces that collect rainwater.  Residential customers are generally assessed one surface unit for billing purposes.
